Answers To Questions…
I’ve seen your instruments and love them. How can I place a custom order with you?
Many of the instruments I make are already unique variations on particular designs, so they are often already one-offs but I will also take on custom orders.
For custom orders, it’s best to initially contact me via email with some details about what you have in mind so that I can give a price estimate. Please note that all instruments are individually handcrafted and as such, take time to create. In addition, my workload varies and can affect what is possible at a given time. To begin work on a custom order, I require a 50% deposit upfront.
What is your shipping policy?
Most items are sent via ParcelForce with tracked delivery and require a signature.
Domestic shipping - I ship within mainland UK.
European/International shipping - I do ship outside of the UK but please contact me for more details and information on this. Please bear in mind you may be responsible for paying import duties, local taxes and possibly additional carrier processing charges when you receive an instrument.
Packaging?
All instruments are packed very carefully for mailing as can be seen from feedback received. I endeavour to re-use packaging whenever possible in order to reduce HiGuitarsUK carbon footprint.
Where do you source your wood from?
All woods are purchased via professional suppliers who only deal with timbers from certified sources FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), etc.
How long does it take to create an instrument?
Varies from 3-6 months depending upon the nature of the instrument involved.
Are your instrument designs your own?
Yes, I prefer to use my university/professional design background to create unique designs whenever possible. Because of my training and experience, I design quite fluidly and therefore, design a lot more instruments than I ever actually make.
Do you sell your designs?
To discuss this or consultancy work, please contact me.
I love your photos, can I ask where they were taken?
Yes, of course! Some have been taken on location, in the beautiful surroundings of Grassfield Hall, here in Pateley Bridge. We can wholeheartedly recommend this stunning Grade II listed building in Pateley Bridge, close to Harrogate. It’s perfect for luxury weekend breaks and boutique weddings, or rent out the whole house for a special occasion or activity. Rest assured, you’ll be well looked after…
