Kingfisher 20" Scale Solid Body Steel String Electric Baritone Ukulele, Natural Ash With 3-Piece Maple & Walnut Neck



Like all HiGuitarsUK instruments, this Kingfisher electric baritone ukulele is handcrafted from quality materials and components in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire.

The combination of an American ash body and maple/walnut neck balanced with 2 hot HiGuitarsUK pickups helps create a versatile and great sounding instrument. While the vintage influenced styling, satin finish and quality chromed hardware combine to give a classy vintage yet modern vibe.

This instrument has 4 individual string bridges, giving improved note separation and a more uke-like bridge string spacing of 37.5mm (D to E). It also has a 3-piece neck for better long term stability. Also the mini humbuckers are coil tapped to give additional single coil sounds when a switch built into the tone dial is pulled upwards.

The scale length is a slightly extended 20" (507mm) which will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of electric guitar 11s or 12s, tuned D-G-B-E with a low D. A set of D'Addario 11s with a wound 3rd is fitted at present.

The 3 piece neck, wider spaced individual saddles and coil taps are usually additional cost options. But, since the body is a three piece (instead of the usual 2-piece) just the base price is being asked here.

Body: 3 piece American ash. Open grain satin finish.

Neck: 3 piece maple-walnut-maple construction. Adjustment free low profile carbon fibre neck rod.

Fretboard: Hyedua with high grade 6.5mm mop shell fretboard dots and slightly oversize 2.5mm side dots (for better visibility). Fretted with high grade hard American fretwire for longer fret life.

Electrics: In standard mode the pickups work as humbuckers across the 3 switch positions. Pull the tone control upwards and both pickups enter single coil mode, with a thinner brighter sound across the switch positions.
