Gloss Road Worn Style Finish Over Sapele Mahogany Body And Thru-Neck.

Like all HiGuitarsUK instruments, this Raindrop electric baritone ukulele is handcrafted from quality materials and components in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire.

The finish of this baritone is a departure from much of Rob’s work, having a blue over black road worn style finish. This has been done in the style of an overpainted instrument which has then worn in, complete with some finish cracks to the blue paint layer and pseudo painted over buckle wear on the back.

The premise here has been to keep everything simple. A single Tonerider ‘Hot Classics’ tele’ style pickup is connected to ‘Alpha’ tone and volume pot’s. An all steel bridge utilizes through-body stringing for easy string loading, while the sturdy stainless steel bridge saddles help produce a balanced, well sustained tone. A neck-thru-body construction gives more direct vibration transmission and a permanent join. The vintage influenced styling and quality chromed hardware combine to give a classy vintage yet modern vibe.

The scale length is a slightly extended 20" (507mm) which will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of electric guitar 12s, tuned D-G-B-E with a low D. A suitable set of D'Addario strings with a wound 3rd is fitted at present.

Body: Sapele mahogany centre section with sapele wings.

Neck: Single piece sapele mahogany thru-neck, with adjustment free carbon fibre neck rod.

Fretboard: Hyedua with high grade 8mm abalone shell fretboard dots and slightly oversize 2.5mm side dots (for better visibility). Fretted with high grade hard American fretwire for longer fret life.
