Lightly flamed sapele mahogany solid body with a bookmatched flamed maple cap. Vibrant green stained face. 5-piece neck construction with a rosewood fretboard and headstock facing. Yellow abalone fretboard markers, to reflect the cream scratchplate, and green abalone ‘HI’ headstock logo. 17” scale length. The vintage influenced styling, gloss/satin finish combination and quality chromed hardware combine to give a classy vintage yet modern vibe.

This ‘Eaglet’ model is a wider body version with a body width of 238mm (similar to an acoustic tenor). The fretboard width at the nut is 34.5mm, while the 4 individual bridges have a wide, more acoustic uke-like, string spacing of 35.5mm, G to A. Generally, electric ukes tend to have a narrow electric guitar-like string spacing.

Like most HiGuitarsUK instruments, this one has an open-grain satin finish to the body and headstock. This time with a vintage gloss (half way between satin and gloss) face, back and headstock facing. The usual multi-layer oil finish has been applied and worked into the neck.

The combination of a mahogany body and neck plus two great DiMarzio pickups helps to create a great sounding instrument. In standard mode the Twang King (neck) and Chopper (bridge) pickups are set up to work as balanced single coils across the 3 switch positions. But pull the tone control upwards and the bridge pickup shifts into full, higher output, humbucker mode.

The 17" scale length will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of D'Addario EXL110W electric guitar 10s with a wound 3rd, tuned G-C-E-A with a low G. The gauges used are also easily individually purchasable online via eBay, etc.
