Solid mahogany body and neck construction with 15” scale length. Satin Pistachio green finish.

The ‘Swift’ model has an extra wide body for improved balance and component spacing. Approx’ tenor width, so not massive and will fit into most concert sized uke bags. The fretboard width at the nut is 36mm, for a little more finger room. The bridge arrangement on this uke consists of 4 independent steel bases with high mass stainless steel saddles for good sustain. These are arranged to give a wide string spacing of 38.5mm, G to A, similar to an acoustic uke. Most electric ukes have a narrow electric guitar like string spacing.

Please note: This uke has a couple of tiny specs of clear light brown lacquer on the back (ringed in photo). So its offered at the lower price of £529.00 instead of £565.00. A good price for a UK handmade instrument.

Unlike most HiGuitarsUK instruments, this one has an opaque open-grain satin finish to the body. Although this is an open-grain finish it is thick enough that only a little of the wood grain pattern is visible. As with most opaque satin finished instruments, the finish may achieve a worn in look with long term use. The usual multi-layer oil finish has been applied and worked into the neck.

The combination of a mahogany body and neck combined with a Tonerider Hot Classics pickup helps to create a great sounding, but simple to use, instrument. While a broad sweep on the tone control adds to versatility. The vintage influenced styling, satin finish and quality chromed hardware combine to give a classy vintage yet modern look.

The 15" (381mm) scale length will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of D'Addario EXL115W electric guitar 11s with a wound 3rd, tuned G-C-E-A with a low G. The gauges used are also easily individually purchasable online via eBay, etc.

Body & Neck: Single piece mahogany thru-neck with 2 lightweight mahogany body wings. Adjustment free low profile carbon fibre neck rod, for long term stability.

Fretboard: Hyedua with high grade 7mm white abalone shell fretboard dots. Slightly oversize 2.5mm side dots (for better visibility). Fretted with high grade hard American fretwire for longer fret life.
