Like all HiGuitarsUK instruments this HiGuitarsUK 2 String Electric Bass Guitar was handcrafted from quality materials in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, UK.

The concept with this 2-string is that it is compact, lightweight and tuned like the lower 2 strings of a standard 4-string bass (on which most basic bass can be played). Also, it can be easier to play without the other 2 strings in the way.

Construction is based around an American hard maple thru-neck with flamed ash facings over walnut wings. The fretboard is zebrawood with large 9mm abalone shell dot inlays. Fretboard edge markings are 2.5mm white dots for good visibility. In order to keep the top of the neck uncluttered, plus maintain neck strength, truss rod adjustment is below the scratchplate at the base of the neck.

The scale length is 32 & 9/16" (826mm) and the instrument is approx 1022mm long. The neck width at the nut is 32mm with a nut string spacing of 17.5mm. The string spacing at the bridge is similar.

Strings are D'Addario made, with a 0.100 E string and 0.080 A string. D'Addario strings are used and recommended for their break free flexibility when attaching shorter strings to machine heads. Not all string brands have this flexibility.

The pickup is a DiMarzio bass humbucker.

The instrument is sealed with a multi coat satin oil finish.
