Kingfisher L 20" Scale Solid Body Steel String Electric Baritone Ukulele. Sapele Mahogany Thru Neck & Body Wings.

This HiGuitarsUK Kingfisher electric baritone ukulele is hand made from quality materials and components in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire.

The L is a new variation of the Kingfisher model with an opaque, semi open grain, gloss lacquer finish applied to the body. So the texture of the wood grain is partially visible in the finish. The vibrant red body colour combines with the vintage influenced styling and quality chromed hardware to give a classy vintage yet modern vibe. Add to this two hot HiGuitarsUK mini humbucking pickups, wired via a coil-tap switch to give the addition of a set of single coil sounds, and this is a great looking, great sounding and versatile instrument.

Body: Two matched sapele mahogany wings, sandwiching a sapele neck block.

Neck: Sapele mahogany thru-neck with a multi-coat Danish oil finish. The neck has an adjustment free low profile carbon fibre neck rod.

The scale length is a slightly extended 20" (507mm) which will work well with the top 4 strings from a set of D'Addario EJ21 electric guitar 12s with a wound 3rd, tuned D-G-B-E with a low D. The gauges used are also easily individually purchasable online via eBay, etc.

Top nut: Bone (not reconstituted)

Neck width at nut: 35.5mm, with a D to E string spacing of 28.5mm.

Fretboard: Hyedua with 7mm yellow-white shell fretboard dots. Fretted with high grade hard American fret wire for long fret life.

Electrics: In standard mode the pickups work as humbuckers across the 3 switch positions. Engage the coil-tap switch and both pickups enter single coil mode, with a thinner brighter sound across the 3 standard switch positions.

Controls: Volume, tone, 3-way switch, coil split switch

Bridge: All steel adjustable bridge with high mass stainless steel saddles. This instrument has an electric guitar like string-to-string spacing, giving a total spacing of 32.5mm D to E.

Tuners: Gotoh, high quality sealed gear
